Pune: The Kondhwa police have taken decisive action against individuals known as “Bullet Kings,” who were disturbing the peace by fitting modified silencers on their motorcycles, producing loud, explosive noises similar to firecrackers. In a recent operation, 20 motorcycles were seized, and their modified silencers were destroyed, as confirmed by Rajkumar Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Residents of the Kondhwa area had filed complaints about Bullet riders causing disturbances, particularly to senior citizens and school students, especially those in grades 10 and 12. The loud noises from the modified silencers were a source of constant inconvenience. In response to these complaints, and with the holy month of Ramadan beginning on March 1, the police stepped up their patrols in the area.
A special operation was launched to address the issue, leading to the confiscation of 20 motorcycles equipped with modified silencers. These were then destroyed using a municipal road roller. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Rajkumar Shinde, Assistant Commissioner Dnyankumar Godse, Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, and Police Inspector (Crimes) Raouf Sheikh.
