Pune: In a major development for Kothrud residents, Pune is set to welcome its third double-decker flyover, following the successful completion of the Nal Stop and Pune University flyovers. The new flyover, which is planned on Paud Road in Kothrud, is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the area.
The flyover, estimated to cost ₹85 crore, will stretch from the garbage depot to Lohia Information Technology (IT) Park, located in Bhusari Colony. Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) has proposed the project to address ongoing traffic issues, and the plan includes a 700-meter-long flyover.
Maha-Metro has already prepared a draft design for the structure and submitted it to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for approval. Once the general body meeting approves the proposal, construction work is expected to begin soon.
