Pune: The Yerwada Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly vandalizing 12 auto-rickshaws and 2 motorcycles in Laxmi Nagar, Yerwada, creating panic among local residents. The accused, identified as Sayaji Sambhaji Dolare, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, Yerwada, was taken into custody on February 15, 2025, in connection with the incident.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on February 6, 2025, around 2:00 AM, when Dolare allegedly smashed the glass windows of several vehicles, spreading fear and unrest in the area. Following multiple complaints from residents, the Yerwada Police launched an investigation.
Dolare has been booked under Section 118(1), 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 7 of the Criminal Amendment Act, and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Speaking about the case, Senior Police Inspector Shelke of Yerwada Police Station said, “The accused was taken to the crime scene for verification, and further investigations are ongoing.”
The police are continuing their inquiry to determine the motive behind the vandalism and whether additional individuals were involved in the crime.
