Pune: A resident of Fair N Hills Society in the Fakhri Hills area was reportedly attacked by a security guard and two others after he questioned the guard regarding a missing ignition key. The incident took place on Wednesday and has resulted in a police case being filed at the Kondhwa Police Station.
The complainant, identified as 35-year-old H. M. Shaikh, had parked his two-wheeler and accidentally left behind the ignition key. Suspecting that the key might have been discarded, he approached the society’s security guard to inquire about it.
As per the First Information Report (FIR), the guard allegedly reacted aggressively to the question and physically assaulted Shaikh. The situation worsened when the society supervisor and two others allegedly joined in the assault. Shaikh sustained minor injuries during the scuffle and sought medical attention at a nearby hospital, where he obtained a certificate before reporting the matter to the police.
Following the complaint, a case has been registered under Sections 118(1), 352, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the security guard, society supervisor, and an unidentified person. Police officials have confirmed that an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents regarding the behaviour and accountability of security staff in residential societies. Several have called for stricter monitoring and thorough background verification of private security personnel to ensure residents’ safety.
