Pune: In a shocking incident, a man attacked his wife with an axe after she refused to give him money for alcohol. The incident took place in Taljai Vasahat, and the Sahakarnagar police have registered a case, arresting the accused husband.
The victim, identified as Poonam Datta Adagale (32), a resident of Khandale Chowk, Taljai Vasahat, Padmavati, lodged a complaint at the Sahakarnagar police station. Based on her complaint, the police arrested her husband, Datta Rajaram Adagale (38).
According to police reports, Datta is unemployed and addicted to alcohol. He married Poonam in 2015, and the couple has a seven-year-old son. Poonam works as a domestic helper to support the family.
On Monday (March 31) around 8 PM, Datta came home intoxicated and demanded more money from Poonam to buy alcohol. When she refused, he became furious and attacked her with an axe. Poonam tried to resist and screamed for help, but she sustained a serious head injury during the attack.
Following the incident, the police arrested Datta. The case is currently being investigated by Police Sub-Inspector Rekha Salunkhe.
