Pune: A 23-year-old woman has filed a police complaint against a 27-year-old man, accusing him of blackmail and repeated sexual assault over the past year. The incident took place between January 2024 and February 2025.
According to Loni Kalbhor police, the accused, identified as Mahesh Ramesh Anpat, a driver from Uruli Kanchan, Taluka Haveli, was known to the victim. The woman, who works for a private firm and resides in a rented house in the Kalbhor area, alleged that Anpat lured her to his residence in Theur, where he took photos and videos of her without consent.
Using these images as leverage, Anpat allegedly threatened to release them on social media and subjected the woman to repeated sexual assault. The victim endured the harassment for nearly a year before approaching Loni Kalbhor police and lodging a formal complaint.
Authorities have registered a case against the accused under Sections 64 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police Sub-Inspector Amol Ghodke, under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale, is leading the investigation.
