Pune – In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in Pune over suspicion of her involvement in an illicit relationship with another man. The accused has been arrested by the police.
The deceased has been identified as Kamal alias Anita Londhe (27). A case has been registered at Hadapsar Police Station based on a complaint filed by her former husband, Vikram Vishwas Londhe (37), a resident of Bhekarainagar, Hadapsar.
According to police reports, Kamal was previously married but had separated from her husband. For the past two years, she had been in a live-in relationship with Rahul Shivaji Misaal (32), a native of Malshiras, Solapur district, currently residing in Raykar Mala, Yavat.
Kamal and Rahul, who are also related (she was his maternal uncle’s daughter), had recently moved to Shewalwadi on May 18. Rahul reportedly suspected Kamal of being involved in an immoral relationship with another man. On Friday, May 23, in a fit of rage, Rahul allegedly strangled Kamal to death at their residence.
Following the murder, the accused Rahul surrendered himself at Yavat Police Station and confessed to killing Kamal at their Shewalwadi residence. Yavat police immediately informed the Hadapsar Police Station, under whose jurisdiction the crime had occurred.
Senior officials from Hadapsar Police Station rushed to the scene, where they found Kamal’s body. The body was sent for post-mortem, and a police team later took Rahul into custody from Yavat.
An investigation into the case is ongoing under the supervision of Police Inspector Jagdale.
