The final results of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections (MMC Results 2026) have been declared, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerging as the single largest party across the state. Out of a total 2,869 wards, the BJP won 1,440 seats, significantly influencing the power structure in urban Maharashtra.
According to the party-wise results, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) secured 404 wards, finishing second. The Congress won 318 wards, followed by the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) with 164 seats. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) won 156 wards.
Other parties include AIMIM with 97 seats, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) with 36, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) with 15, and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) with 14 seats. Independents and smaller parties together won 225 wards.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)
In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) results show the BJP leading with 88 seats out of 227 wards. The Shiv Sena (UBT) won 67 seats, while the Shiv Sena (Shinde) secured 28 seats. The Congress won 24 seats, MNS secured 6, AIMIM won 9, and Others accounted for 10 seats.
