Pimpri Chinchwad: In a bizarre turn of events in Pimpri Chinchwad’s Premlok Park on Friday night, residents were left amazed when water began seeping from the trunk of a tree. The unusual sight quickly drew crowds, with many interpreting it as a divine occurrence. While some believed the tree was shedding tears, others hailed it as a sacred ‘amritdhara’ with supposed healing properties.
The tree was soon adorned with garlands and smeared with turmeric, as locals gathered to collect the mysterious water. Photos and videos of the event spread rapidly across social media, fueling curiosity and reverence alike.
However, not everyone was convinced. A few skeptical residents reached out to authorities, prompting an investigation. Officials from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Water Supply Department, along with the fire brigade, discovered a much more earthly explanation: a damaged underground water pipeline. The tree, which had grown directly above the pipe, was merely acting as a channel for the escaping water.
