Nagpur: A school teacher has been arrested for allegedly recording videos of women in a restroom at a public event in Nagpur. The accused, identified as Mangesh Khapare (35), worked as an art teacher at a school in Dighori.
The incident occurred at the Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh complex in Sitabuldi during a cultural program. According to police, a woman attending the event grew suspicious when she noticed Khapare lurking near the restroom. Upon raising an alarm, vigilant attendees apprehended him and discovered 8–10 explicit videos of women using restrooms stored on his mobile phone.
The Sitabuldi police promptly arrested Khapare and seized his phone for further investigation. Authorities revealed that he may have committed similar offenses during earlier public events.
This case has sparked outrage, with demands for stricter safeguards in public spaces. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of his actions and identify potential victims.
