Pune: In a swift and precise operation, Nanded City Police apprehended a suspect and confiscated a country-made pistol along with a live cartridge. The arrest followed a tip-off from confidential sources about a man carrying a firearm near the last bus stop of Dhayari village, inside the cemetery.
Acting promptly on the intelligence, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Shivaji Bunge rushed to the location. The officers intercepted the suspect and discovered the pistol and ammunition in his possession, which were seized in the presence of a witness.
The accused has been identified as 22-year-old Vishal Tanaji Kadhire, a resident of Flat No. 01, Muktangan Building, behind Kalubai Temple, Dhayari, Pune.
A case has been registered against Kadhire under Crime Register No. 02/2025, citing violations of Section 3(25) of the Indian Arms Act, along with Sections 37(1) and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Authorities have assured that further investigations are underway to determine the origins and intended use of the weapon.
