Nashik Municipal Election 2026 is fast emerging as a high-stakes political battle, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stepping up preparations to secure a historic mandate in the city. Senior BJP leader and state minister Girish Mahajan on Tuesday said the party aims to elect more than 100 corporators in the upcoming Nashik Municipal Election 2026, calling it a record-breaking target.
Major Political Entry Ahead of Nashik Municipal Election 2026
In a significant political development linked to Nashik Municipal Election 2026, five prominent leaders from rival parties formally joined the BJP in Nashik. The entrants include Uddhav Thackeray faction leaders Vinayak Pandey and Yatin Wagh, MNS leader Dinkar Patil, senior Congress leader Shahu Khaire, and former NCP (Sharad Pawar group) MLA Nitin Bhosale.
The move is being seen as a major boost to BJP’s electoral strength ahead of Nashik Municipal Election 2026.

Internal Dissent Surfaces Within BJP
However, the political entry triggered internal unrest within the BJP unit. Nashik election in-charge MLA Devyani Farande reportedly opposed the inductions, and her supporters staged protests outside the party office. Despite this resistance, the leadership went ahead with the inductions, citing long-term strategy for Nashik Municipal Election 2026.
Girish Mahajan’s Strong Message to Party Workers
Addressing concerns, Mahajan said BJP is the largest political party in the country today, winning the maximum number of MPs, MLAs, and corporators. He added that leaders across parties are joining BJP due to faith in its leadership and development agenda.
Referring to recent electoral victories, Mahajan said, “When BJP-led alliances can win nearly 80 per cent seats in assembly elections, the outcome of Nashik Municipal Election 2026 is clear.”
Assurance to Grassroots Workers
Mahajan assured party workers that no injustice would be done during Nashik Municipal Election 2026 ticket distribution. He said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would personally ensure fairness and balance between old and new workers.
Nashik Municipal Election 2026 Set to Be High-Voltage Contest
With large-scale political realignments and rising internal dynamics, Nashik Municipal Election 2026 is expected to be one of the most closely watched civic polls in Maharashtra. BJP has clearly set an aggressive target, while opposition parties are recalibrating their strategies in response.
