Pune: In a shocking incident, a 41-year-old man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by unidentified persons while travelling in a car on the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway. The crime took place in the early hours of Monday, May 19, near Sweet Corner in the Warje to Mamurdi stretch.
According to the police, the complainant, a resident of Kondhwa Dhawade, was en route to Mumbai when the accused — reportedly travelling with him in the same vehicle — threatened him with a pistol and issued death threats. The assailants then forcibly snatched his mobile phone, valued at ₹13,000, along with cash.
The victim immediately approached the Warje Malwadi Police Station and lodged a formal complaint. Based on his statement, police have registered a case of armed robbery against unidentified accused and have begun further investigation.
Police officials are reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and are working to identify and apprehend the culprits involved in the incident.
