Pimpri Chinchwad: As part of the Maharashtra government’s 100-day campaign, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is set to host a virtual hackathon on April 8 and 9. The initiative, led by the civic body’s IT department, aims to involve citizens in refining and enhancing the corporation’s newly developed official website.
The civic portal, which undergoes revamping every five years, last saw an upgrade in 2017. The upcoming version is equipped with modern digital tools, including artificial intelligence, to improve both administrative workflows and user access to essential civic services. The website is scheduled for official launch on April 15.
To ensure the platform is user-centric and technically robust, the hackathon will allow participants to flag issues, recommend innovative features, and suggest cybersecurity upgrades. Top contributors stand to win prizes and recognition.
“We’ve designed this hackathon to make the new PCMC website more accessible, secure, and efficient. Citizen feedback will help us fine-tune the system before the official launch. We’re encouraging wide participation,” said PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh.
