Pune, July 27: In a shocking development that has caused political ripples, Pune Police raided a high-profile rave party in the upscale Kharadi area and detained several individuals, including Pranjal Khewalkar — son-in-law of veteran politician and Sharad Pawar faction NCP MLA Eknath Khadse.
The party was reportedly organized under the guise of a house gathering at a luxury flat in a posh residential society. According to police sources, the raid was conducted based on a tip-off about illegal activities involving drugs and alcohol. Upon entering the premises, the police discovered an ongoing rave party involving three women and two men, along with substantial quantities of narcotics, liquor bottles, and hookah equipment.
Among those detained was Pranjal Khewalkar, who is married to Rohini Khadse — NCP (Sharad Pawar group) Women’s Wing State President and daughter of Eknath Khadse. The arrest has triggered major embarrassment for the Khadse family, especially at a time when Eknath Khadse has been vocal about political ethics and has recently raised serious allegations of a honey-trap conspiracy in Maharashtra politics.
The police are currently interrogating the detainees, and forensic analysis of the seized substances is underway. The flat where the party took place is allegedly linked to a well-known hotel in the vicinity, suggesting that the venue may have been frequently used for similar parties under false pretenses.
