Pune: In order to maintain law and order in Pune Rural District, Additional District Magistrate Jyoti Kadam has issued preventive orders under Section 37(1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951. These orders will be in effect from midnight on March 22, 2025, until midnight on April 4, 2025.
According to the orders, carrying hazardous or explosive materials, stones, weapons, or any items that could be used as tools for violence, such as sticks, knives, swords, firearms, or any objects capable of causing bodily harm, is prohibited. Additionally, the display or burning of symbolic effigies or images of individuals or leaders, making provocative speeches, playing loud music, or inciting disorder are also banned.
Any speech, conduct, or activity that could threaten public order, state security, or incite rebellion against the state is forbidden. Furthermore, the manufacture or distribution of any material that could disrupt public order, as well as assembling in groups of more than five people without prior permission from the Pune Rural Police Superintendent, is prohibited. Holding meetings or processions without such permission is also restricted.
This order will not apply to government personnel or individuals authorized to carry weapons as part of their official duties under the orders of their superiors.
Violators of these orders will be subject to punishment under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
