Pune: In an effort to maintain law and order in Pune Rural District, Additional District Magistrate Jyoti Kadam has issued preventive orders under Sections 37(1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951. These restrictions will be in effect from 12:05 AM on May 31 until midnight on June 13.

The orders prohibit carrying any inflammable or explosive materials, stones, weapons, or any items that can be used to cause physical harm. The carrying or throwing of swords, sticks, spears, rods, guns, or similar weapons is banned. Additionally, displaying or burning pictures or effigies of individuals or leaders, making loud inflammatory announcements, and playing musical instruments that may provoke unrest are forbidden.

The orders also ban speeches or appearances that threaten public decency, morality, or state security. Any actions inciting unrest or spreading material that endangers law and order are strictly prohibited. Gatherings of more than five people, public meetings, or processions require prior permission from the Pune Rural Police Superintendent and are otherwise banned.

However, these restrictions do not apply to government personnel on duty or individuals authorized to carry weapons under official orders.

Authorities have warned that violation of these preventive orders will result in penalties under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

Citizens are urged to cooperate with the authorities to ensure peace and security during this period.
