Pune: A prostitution racket operating under the cover of a massage parlor in Pune’s posh Kalyaninagar area has been successfully raided by the police. One person has been arrested, and several victims have been rescued during the operation.
The arrested individual, Gnaneshwar Mahadev Bhoi (26), a resident of Wagholi, has been charged under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Police constable Gauri Zhore has filed a complaint at Yerwada Police Station in connection with the case.
Police authorities were tipped off about illegal activities being carried out at a massage parlor named “The Spa Villa” in Kalyaninagar. A team of officers raided the establishment and rescued several women who were allegedly coerced into the sex trade. Bhoi is accused of luring the victims with promises of money, as outlined in the police complaint.
The investigation is currently underway, led by Police Inspector (Crime) Pallavi Meher, with further legal actions expected as the case progresses.
