Pune: Pune International Airport has revised the signage of its newly inaugurated Udaan Yatri Café to incorporate Marathi, alongside Hindi and English, after receiving public feedback regarding the initial omission of the regional language. The café, launched on April 28, 2025, aims to provide affordable refreshments to travelers, offering items like tea and water at just ₹10.
The absence of Marathi on the original signboard sparked discussions on social media platforms, with many users emphasizing the importance of representing the local language in public spaces. Responding promptly, Airport Director Santosh Dhoke stated that the airport authorities have mandated the inclusion of Marathi in all signage, ensuring that all boards and symbols are displayed in Marathi, Hindi, and English.
This initiative aligns with the broader efforts to make air travel more accessible and culturally inclusive, reflecting the linguistic diversity of the region
