Pune: In anticipation of the grand arrival of the Palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj on Friday, June 20, the Pune City Police have announced significant traffic curbs and road closures throughout the city. The annual Ashadhi Wari procession attracts thousands of Warkaris (devotees), prompting authorities to shut down 26 key roads from 8 AM until midnight on the day of the event.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar urged residents to avoid core areas affected by the procession and advised the use of alternative routes to minimize inconvenience.

Range Hill Chowk to Sancheti Chowk (Ganeshkhind Road)
Khandojibaba Chowk to Veer Chapekar Chowk (Gokhale and Ferguson Roads)
Gadgil Putla Chowk to S. G. Barve Chowk (Chhatrapati Shivaji Road)
Apte Road and Gokhale Road to Tilak Road
Laxmi Road (Tilak Chowk to Sant Kabir Chowk)
Shanipar Chowk to Seva Sadan Chowk
Nehru Chowk to Sonya Maruti Chowk
Devjibaba Chowk to Hamjekhan Chowk (Ganesh Road)
Ramoshi Gate to Palkhi Vithoba Mandir (Nehru Road)
Sant Kabir Chowk to Chacha Halwai Chowk
Additional traffic restrictions will be implemented in Nana-Bhavani Peth once the palkhi reaches its designated stopping point.
To accommodate the gathering of Warkaris near Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple and Shaniwar Wada, Chhatrapati Shivaji Road and Laxmi Road (stretching from Sant Kabir Chowk to Belbag Chowk) will remain closed from June 20 until 11 AM on June 22.
The police department requests the cooperation of citizens to ensure smooth movement and safety during the Ashadhi Wari celebrations.
