Pune: In a landmark verdict, the Pune Court has sentenced Sachin Ambadas Khote, 27, to life imprisonment for the murder of his father, Ambadas Digambar Khote, 52. The tragic incident took place on October 29, 2014, in Uruli Kanchan, when Sachin fatally attacked his father with a sugarcane cutter.
According to the prosecution, the motive behind the brutal act was a dispute that arose after Ambadas Khote made unwanted advances towards his daughter-in-law, triggering a heated argument between father and son. In a fit of rage, Sachin used a sugarcane cutter to strike his father, resulting in an instant death.
The case was meticulously investigated by Assistant Police
Inspector Ranjit Singh, and a chargesheet was subsequently filed in the Sessions Court. Presided over by Judge P.P. Jadhav, the court found Sachin guilty of murder. In addition to the life sentence, the court imposed a fine of ₹25,000. The ruling stipulated that failure to pay the fine would result in an additional three months of rigorous imprisonment.
The verdict marks a significant moment in the case, bringing a measure of closure to the family and reinforcing the judiciary’s commitment to delivering justice in such grave matters.
