Pune: In a significant relief for travelers, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has confirmed that toll charges on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway will remain unchanged until April 30, 2030.
While toll fees on other highways managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have seen an increase recently, the Pune-Mumbai Expressway follows a separate toll structure, which was last revised on April 1, 2005. According to MSRDC officials, the last toll hike took place on April 1, 2023, and there will be no further adjustments for the next seven years.
This decision is a welcome move for thousands of commuters, transport operators, and tourists who rely on this vital route between Pune and Mumbai. As one of the busiest expressways in Maharashtra, the assurance of stable toll charges brings financial relief to daily travelers.
MSRDC has emphasized that the toll rates will remain as per the long-term agreement established in 2005, ensuring consistent pricing. Commuters have expressed their appreciation for the announcement, recognizing the positive effect it will have on their travel expenses. The move is expected to enhance economic activity by maintaining affordable and smooth connectivity between these two major cities.
