Pune: A conductor from Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) displayed exceptional honesty by returning a lost mobile phone to its rightful owner.
On March 18, while working on Route No. 17 (Narhegaon to Shivajinagar), Swargate Depot conductor Tanaji Kamble (Badge No. 4131) discovered a mobile phone left behind inside the bus. After confirming the owner’s identity, Kamble identified the phone as belonging to passenger Sarjerao Shirsagar, who had been traveling on the same bus.
Kamble promptly returned the phone to Kshirsagar, with bus driver Pratap Bagal (Badge No. 2456) present as a witness. This act of honesty is not a one-off for Kamble, who has previously returned lost cash and valuables to passengers on multiple occasions.
A grateful Shirsagar, visibly emotional, expressed his appreciation, saying, “People often say that lost belongings are rarely recovered, but today, thanks to the integrity of PMPML staff, I got my phone back. I sincerely thank the conductor and driver for their honesty.”
Kamble’s actions have earned praise for upholding integrity and trustworthiness in public service.
