Pune: In a large-scale operation to enforce traffic discipline, the Pune City Police Commissionerate conducted a citywide blockade on February 24, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM. The initiative aimed to curb traffic violations and ensure road safety.
A total of 97 police officers and 1,872 police personnel participated in the operation, including 4 Additional Police Commissioners, 5 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 10 Divisional Assistant Commissioners, 39 Senior Police Inspectors, crime and investigation teams, and traffic branch officials. The blockade was implemented at key roads, intersections, and traffic hotspots across the city.
During the drive, 4,187 vehicles were inspected, leading to 1,518 fines being issued for violations such as wrong-side driving, triple riding, and failure to wear seat belts. A total fine of ₹13,65,100 was collected, and 371 vehicles were impounded.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Joint Commissioner of Police, and senior officials from various police divisions. The Pune Police has urged citizens to adhere to traffic regulations and contribute to maintaining road safety and discipline.
