Pune: Police confiscated 450 liters of illicit liquor during a patrol in Gosavi Vasti, under the jurisdiction of Suraksha Nagar Police Chowki, on the occasion of Ramzan Eid. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Satyajit Adamane and Crime Inspector Govind Jadhav.
During the patrol, a police team comprising PSI Avinash Shinde, ASI Kishor Rane, Women Police Constables Takawale and Mangala Pardhi, along with Marshals PC Mahesh Mane and PC Akash Sonapsare, intercepted a suspect, Somnath Kamble, a resident of Birajdar Nagar, Hadapsar, Pune. Upon searching his belongings, officers found 12 cans containing a total of 450 liters of illicit country-made liquor, valued at ₹45,000.
Following the seizure, a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. The operation underscores the police’s commitment to curbing illegal activities and maintaining law and order during festive occasions.
Senior Police Inspector Satyajit Adamane of Wanwadi Police Station confirmed the incident and assured strict action against the illicit liquor trade in the city.
