Pune: Climbers from Pune’s Adventure Junction have successfully conquered the front wall of Bhairavgad, a fort in the Sahyadri range known for its extreme difficulty in climbing. The accomplished team, consisting of Mansingh Chavan, Krishna Margale, Lokesh Nailkar, and Ananta Kokare, completed the feat after facing significant challenges along the way.
Upon reaching the summit, the climbers hoisted the saffron flag as a tribute to the valor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, paying homage to the legendary warrior king who once ruled the region.
Located to the south of Moroshi village in Thane district’s Murbad taluka, the imposing Bhairavgad stands out with its massive 450-foot-high wall, which is considered a geographical “dike.” This east-west spanning wall is one of the main features that makes Bhairavgad a sought-after challenge for climbers.
Adventure Junction’s team made history by scaling this difficult front wall and adding another remarkable achievement to their list.
