Pune: A rape case has been registered against the son of a former BJP corporator from Pune. The incident came to light after a young woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted multiple times under the pretext of marriage and was later forced to undergo an abortion.
The accused has been identified as Karan Dilip Navale, son of former BJP corporator Rajshree Navale. According to the complaint filed at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station, the 28-year-old victim claimed that Karan raped her multiple times between 2021 and 2024, promising marriage. When she became pregnant, she was allegedly forced to have an abortion.
The victim and Karan first met at a gym in 2021 and developed a friendship. Over time, their relationship turned intimate, during which Karan allegedly sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. When she brought up marriage, he reportedly avoided the discussion.
Karan repeatedly assured her that he would marry her and asked for more time while continuing to exploit her sexually. As a result, she became pregnant. In 2024, when she became pregnant again, she insisted on informing their families. The victim stated in her complaint that they got married in Alandi on February 16, 2025.
When the victim approached Rajshree Navale, Karan’s mother, to inform her about her son’s actions, she was allegedly threatened and told to leave Pune. Following the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case against Karan Navale and initiated further investigation.
