Pune: In a shocking incident, social media personality and reel star Akash alias Akkya Bansode and his friend were brutally attacked by three individuals wielding sharp weapons. The assault took place inside Bansode’s clothing store located in Ubale Nagar, Wagholi. Following the incident, Pune’s Crime Branch acted swiftly and apprehended all three suspects involved.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aniket Deepak Wankhede (18) and Pravin Govind Mane (18), both hailing from Kharadi. Additionally, a minor has also been implicated in the attack.
The complaint was lodged at the Wagholi Police Station by Dnyanoba Madhav Jadhav (19), a resident of Ubale Nagar and a friend of the victim. As per the complaint and police reports, the attack occurred on the night of July 3, when Bansode and Jadhav were targeted by the trio. Bansode sustained grievous injuries to his head, eyebrow, lips, and thigh, and was immediately rushed to a hospital where he remains under treatment.
The violent incident, which unfolded inside a local shop, triggered significant unrest in the area and quickly gained traction on social media.
While the Wagholi Police was investigating the matter, Crime Branch Unit 6 also launched a parallel probe. Acting on a tip-off that the suspects were hiding in Shirur, officers Girish Nanekar and Rishikesh Takawane promptly reached the location and detained all three accused. After completing medical formalities, the trio was handed over to Wagholi Police.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional Commissioner Pankaj Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Mulik. The arrest team included Police Inspector Wahid Pathan, and officers Girish Nanekar, Rishikesh Takawane, Pratiksha Pansare, and Kirti Mandale.
The swift coordination between local police and the crime branch has been widely appreciated by residents and netizens alike.
