Pune: in a shocking incident of road rage, a 19-year-old youth was brutally assaulted and stabbed by a group of three men near Vetalbaba Chowk on Pune’s Senapati Bapat Road on Saturday afternoon. The attack took place around 1:30 PM following a heated altercation over giving way to a vehicle.
The victim, identified as Prithviraj Kumar Narwade (age 19), a resident of Castel Royal, Bhosalenagar, was driving his car when a Hyundai Creta reportedly began tailing him aggressively. The accused — Mahesh Pramod Pawar (29), Rohit Ashok Dhotre (24), and Akash Vilas Kusalkar (34), all residents of Vadarwadi — allegedly chased him down, intercepted his car, and forcibly pulled him out.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers punched and kicked Prithviraj before one of them repeatedly stabbed him on the head with a sharp weapon. After issuing threats, the trio fled the scene, leaving the young man severely injured.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused.
