Mumbai, 24 November 2025: Indian cricket icon Rohit Sharma has been officially named the brand ambassador for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to begin on February 7 next year.
The tournament, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will see Rohit playing a key promotional role in global campaigns, fan engagement initiatives and digital outreach leading up to the event. The ICC said Rohit’s leadership legacy and global fan following make him the “perfect face” of the upcoming edition.
Rohit, who led India to multiple ICC finals and a historic T20 World Cup title in 2024, expressed pride in representing the tournament, calling it “an honour to be part of a format that has given unforgettable moments to fans worldwide.”
Tournament preparations are underway, with venues expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The 2026 edition will feature an expanded team lineup, building on the growing popularity of the shortest format.
