Pune: A 60-year-old woman lost her life in an accident on the Katraj Bypass Road after a four-wheeler rammed into the two-wheeler she was riding. Her daughter, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries. A case has been registered against the unidentified car driver at the Ambegaon Police Station for causing the fatal accident.
The deceased has been identified as Lahubai Ashruba Waghmare (age 60). Her daughter, Priyanka Suryakant Raut (age 33, resident of Waghjai Nagar), was critically injured in the incident. She has lodged a complaint with the Ambegaon Police Station, based on which a case has been filed against the unidentified car driver.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 1:30 PM on Sunday, April 4. Lahubai Waghmare and Priyanka Raut were riding a two-wheeler on the Katraj Bypass, heading from Katraj toward the Navale Flyover. Lahubai was driving the scooter when a four-wheeler hit them from behind in front of Wonder City. The impact caused significant damage to the two-wheeler, and both women sustained injuries.
They were immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment, where doctors declared Lahubai Waghmare dead.
Following the incident, Priyanka Raut filed a complaint at the Ambegaon Police Station. A case has been registered against the unknown driver of the four-wheeler for causing Lahubai Waghmare’s death. Police Sub-Inspector Koli is investigating the case.
