Pimpri Chinchwad: BJP City President Shatrughna Kate has urged Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh to implement a discounted PMPML bus pass scheme for students of classes 5 to 12 for the academic year 2025-26. Kate submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner in this regard.
In his letter, Kate stated that the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Secondary Education Department had launched a discounted bus pass scheme for PMPML travel, offering 25% to 75% concessions to students of classes 5 to 12 within the municipal limits during the academic year 2023-24. The scheme was implemented with various terms and conditions.
Kate further highlighted that many students from Pimpri-Chinchwad travel to Khadki, Pune, and Dehu Road Cantonment areas for their education. Therefore, he requested that the 25% to 75% discounted bus pass scheme continue in the 2025-26 academic year as well, so that students can travel easily on PMPML buses.
He also urged the Commissioner to take prompt action to implement this scheme and to inform him of any decisions taken. Kate added that this initiative would provide relief to thousands of students and help reduce their travel expenses, making their educational journeys more affordable.
