Pune: Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, a sense of fear has gripped many tourists stranded in Jammu & Kashmir. However, some tourists from Pune district have shown remarkable determination, choosing to complete their Kashmir trip despite the incident. As many as 657 tourists from the district are currently stuck in the region, all of whom have contacted the District Disaster Control Cell.
According to the Disaster Control Cell, 159 of these tourists are expected to return to Pune by April 27. Some have already booked their return tickets via train or flight, while others have returned using the free air travel facility provided by the state government.
As per the latest updates, 11 tourists landed in Pune by flight at 10 AM on Thursday. Another 19 are expected to arrive by flight later that night. On April 25, 77 tourists will return by air, followed by 12 more on April 26. Additionally, 29 tourists are scheduled to return by train on April 27.
District Disaster Management Officer Vitthal Banote stated that authorities are in continuous touch with all tourists and efforts are underway to collect updated information through the control room. Meanwhile, some tourists have boldly decided to complete their trip before returning home.
