Stolen Goods Worth Over ₹12 Lakh Returned to Owners by Pune Police

Pune: In a significant breakthrough, Pune City Police successfully returned stolen valuables worth ₹12,58,100 to the rightful owners. The stolen goods, which had been seized from the accused during their arrest, included gold jewelry and other precious items.

The stolen items belonged to two complainants. The first complainant, Pravin Kumar Manikchand Lodha, a resident of Havenpark Sosa, Kondhwa, reported the theft of several gold items, including chains, rings, mangalsutras, and bangles. The total weight of the stolen gold was 15 tola, valued at ₹10,65,600. A case was registered at the Kondhwa Police Station.

The second complainant, Raisa Sadiq Shaikh, a resident of Nuren Heights, Kondhwa, had reported the theft of gold jewelry including a bormal, earrings, rings, and necklaces, totaling 3.5 tolas of gold valued at ₹1,92,500. A case was registered at Kondhwa Police Station.

Both cases were pursued by the police under various sections of the law, including Sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305. The stolen items were recovered from the accused during their arrest.

The goods were officially handed back to the complainants in the presence of police authorities, including Dr. Dhanyakumar Godse VI, Rajkumar Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and Vinay Patankar, Senior Police Inspector of Kondhwa Police Station. The event was also attended by Abdul Rauf Shaikh, Police Inspector (Crime) at Kondhwa Police Station.

The actions were carried out under the supervision of senior police officials, including Commissioner of Police Pune City Amitesh Kumar Sao, Senior Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, and Additional Commissioner of Police East Regional Division, Manoj Patil. The successful recovery and return of the stolen goods highlight the diligent efforts of the Pune Police in ensuring justice for the victims.
