New Delhi : The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday announced the results of the NEET UG 2025 examination, with students from Delhi, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra securing top ranks. This year’s results highlight the dominance of these states in medical entrance preparation, with Rajasthan’s Mahesh Kumar securing the All India Rank (AIR) 1, followed by Utkarsh Avadhiya from Madhya Pradesh at AIR 2, and Maharashtra’s Krishang Joshi taking the AIR 3 position.

The official answer key for NEET UG has also been released, and students can now check their individual scorecards on the NTA’s portal at neet.nta.nic.in. Over 22 lakh students appeared for the exam this year, competing for around 1 lakh MBBS and BDS seats across India.

Interestingly, among the top 10 candidates, only one female student found a place — Delhi’s Avika Agrawal, who secured a spot in the top 5. Other Delhi-based students who made it to the top ranks include Mrinal Kishor Jha, Harsh Kedawat, and Aashi Singh, reaffirming Delhi’s strong performance in this year’s rankings.

Rajasthan once again emerged as a powerhouse of NEET results. Besides Mahesh Kumar at the top, the state’s Tanay, an OBC category student, secured the 13th rank and was the only candidate from his category to break into the top 20. Other high-ranking students from Rajasthan include Soumya Sharma and Manvendra Singh Rajpurohit, both placed between ranks 14 and 20.

West Bengal also made its mark in the top 20 list, with Rachit Sinha Chaudhuri and Rupayan Pal featuring prominently. From the southern region, Karnataka’s Nikhil Sonad, Telangana’s Kakarla Jeevan Sai Kumar, and Andhra Pradesh’s Darbha Karthik Ram Kireeti stood out among the top scorers. Students from Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana also earned significant ranks in the top 50, indicating a healthy geographical spread of talent.

The gender disparity in top ranks has sparked discussion, but experts have noted that the overall participation of girls in NEET remains high, and several state toppers include female candidates.

This year’s results reflect the growing competitive intensity of NEET and the importance of early preparation, personalized mentorship, and access to quality resources. With the top ranks spread across states, the performance of students from varied backgrounds reaffirms the merit-based nature of the exam.

As counselling rounds begin, students are advised to keep a close eye on official updates and begin preparing their documents for admission processes.
