Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, concluding that his death was a suicide and not a murder. The report states that no evidence of foul play was found, leading to a clean chit for actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. Since then, speculations and controversies had surrounded his demise, with multiple agencies, including the CBI, ED, and NCB, probing different angles. After four years and four months, the CBI has officially closed the case, confirming that Sushant died by suicide and that no one forced him to take this extreme step.

CBI’s Findings:
No evidence of murder: The forensic team ruled out any possibility of homicide.

No criminal conspiracy: The investigation did not find any proof that anyone abetted Sushant’s suicide.

Despite initial allegations by Sushant’s family, Rhea and her relatives were not found guilty of any wrongdoing.

Drug angle investigated: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had questioned multiple people, including Rhea, but found no direct link to Sushant’s death.

Initially, Bihar Police had started an investigation based on an FIR filed by Sushant’s father, alleging financial exploitation by Rhea. Later, the case was handed over to the CBI. Meanwhile, the Disha Salian death case, which was speculated to be linked to Sushant’s demise, will have a hearing in the Bombay High Court on April 2, 2025.

With the CBI’s closure report now submitted in a special court in Mumbai, further legal directives will be awaited. However, this development effectively puts an end to the long-standing speculation surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death.
