Pune: A tragic accident near Pune Airport has claimed the lives of two family members, Ashirwad Goekar (52) and Reshma Goekar (66). The couple was returning home after receiving treatment at the Air Force’s ECH Hospital when the fatal incident occurred.
Reports indicate that the duo was traveling on a two-wheeler and was making a right turn towards the airport from the main road when the accident took place. A speeding Mahindra SUV, headed towards Five Nine, overtook a stationary bus and other vehicles, colliding head-on with the two-wheeler.
The crash was so severe that Ashirwad Goekar died at the scene, while Reshma Goekar later succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the Command Hospital. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
