Pune: A 31-year-old civil services aspirant lost his life in a fatal road accident late Friday night while returning from a wedding ceremony in the Loni-Kalbhor area along the Pune-Solapur Highway. The deceased, Samadhan Sambhaji Bhite, was a native of Nir Nimbgaon, Indapur Taluka, and had been residing in Pune to pursue his goal of entering government service.
The incident occurred when Bhite and his friend, Mayur Sunil Dongre, a 29-year-old Police Sub-Inspector with Mumbai Police, were riding home after attending the pre-wedding Haldi ceremony of a friend serving as a deputy collector. Around midnight near Kavdipat, Bhite reportedly lost control of the speeding two-wheeler, resulting in a crash into the highway divider. Both sustained serious injuries in the collision.
Personnel from the Loni-Kalbhor Police Station, including PSI Digambar Sontakke and constables Bapu Waghmode, Vijay Jadhav, Tausif Sayyed, and Rahul Malge, responded promptly to the accident scene. With assistance from local residents, both victims were transported to a nearby private hospital. Unfortunately, Bhite succumbed to his injuries during treatment early Saturday morning.
At the time of the accident, Bhite was staying in Pune’s Mangalwar Peth and was studying at the Swa-Roopvardhini institute to prepare for competitive examinations. His untimely death has left the academic community and his peers in deep mourning.
The institute mourned the loss of one of its dedicated students, while Bhite’s grieving family, including his parents and brother, took the noble step of donating his eyes. His final rites were conducted in his hometown of Indapur in a sorrowful ceremony attended by family and friends.
