Pune: Traffic police often face disputes while enforcing parking rules in the city. However, in a shocking incident in Hadapsar, two women assaulted a traffic policeman with shoes after their vehicle was towed from a no-parking zone. The vehicle was parked on the footpath, leading to police action. Following the assault, Hadapsar Police registered a case against the two women.
The accused have been identified as Balika Suryavanshi and Sangeeta Landge. The complaint was lodged by Police Havaldar Ajinath Aghav at the Hadapsar Police Station.
According to police reports, Havaldar Aghav is assigned to the Hadapsar Traffic Division. On Tuesday around 11 AM, officers were taking action against illegally parked vehicles in the Gadital area. The accused women had parked their two-wheeler irresponsibly on the footpath. As the towing van began lifting the vehicle, the women protested the action and confronted Havaldar Aghav.
In a fit of rage, the accused assaulted Aghav with shoes, pushed him, and threatened him. Following this, a case was registered against them for obstructing government work and assaulting a public servant. Police Sub-Inspector Altaf Shaikh is investigating the case.
