Pune: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught two women computer operators working on a contract basis at the Setu office while accepting a bribe of ₹400. The accused had allegedly demanded ₹500 from a citizen for processing a landless certificate application, but after negotiations, the amount was settled at ₹400. Following a complaint to the ACB, a trap was set, and both women were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
A case has been registered against the accused, Vandana Dinesh Shinde (50) and Jayashree Rohidas Pawar (45), under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Bundgarden Police Station. The complainant had submitted an application at the Haveli Upper Tehsil Office’s Setu center for a landless certificate, where the accused demanded the bribe.
Acting under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande and Additional Superintendent Dr. Sheetal Janve, the ACB laid a trap and apprehended the accused. Police Inspector Shriram Shinde is conducting further investigations.
