Pune: Pune experienced unexpected rainfall this afternoon, with heavy showers recorded across the city. The sudden change in weather provided much-needed respite to residents grappling with soaring temperatures over the past week.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rain through tomorrow, and further showers are expected in the coming hours. Intense rainfall was particularly noted along Sinhagad Road, Kothrud, Fergusson College Road, Hadapsar, and Baner.
While the rain has disrupted traffic in low-lying areas due to waterlogging, locals have largely welcomed the cooler conditions. The drop in temperature has brought a refreshing break from the recent heatwave, offering temporary relief to Pune’s populace.
