Pune: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has arrested Vishwajeet Jadhav, son-in-law of renowned Vaishali Hotel owner Jagannath Shetty, for allegedly cheating his wife, Nikita Shetty. According to the complaint filed by Nikita, Jadhav fraudulently took a ₹5 crore loan using forged signatures on property documents without her knowledge.
Following the complaint, Jadhav was taken into custody and remanded until Sunday. His lawyer, Advocate Pushkar Durge, argued that the case was a family dispute and that Jadhav had voluntarily surrendered to the EOW, making police custody unnecessary. However, the court granted EOW’s request for custody as the investigation continues.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of the Shetty family, known for their iconic Vaishali Hotel on Fergusson College Road. Further inquiries are underway.
