Pune: Students at Savitribai Phule Pune University have raised concerns after alleging that insects and larvae have frequently been found in the food served at the mess and canteen. These claims have been made by students who have reportedly noticed the unsanitary conditions in their meals.
In a recent incident, students discovered insects and larvae in the food served at Hostel No. 8 mess. The issue has sparked outrage among the students, leading to further attention being drawn to the matter.
Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took immediate action by visiting the site, questioning the mess in-charge, and subsequently shutting down the mess. The situation has highlighted concerns regarding hygiene standards in the university’s food services.
