Pune: A 35-year-old man from Kalepadal, Sagar Bapu Londhe, has fallen prey to a stock trading scam, losing Rs 6.15 lakh. Londhe, a resident of Dhamalwadi, Bhekrainagar, lodged a formal complaint with the Kalepadal police, alleging that he was lured into the fraudulent scheme by unknown individuals promising high returns on stock trading.
The scam began in December when Londhe was contacted by various individuals using different phone numbers and bank accounts. These scammers persuaded him to deposit money for stock buying, selling, and trading, claiming it would generate substantial profits. Believing the false promises, Londhe transferred a total of Rs 6.15 lakh as requested.
However, after making the payments, Londhe’s contacts stopped responding, blocking him on all communication platforms, and no refunds were issued. He reported the incident to the police, leading to a case being filed against the unknown perpetrators. The Kalepadal police have launched an investigation to track down those responsible for the scam.
