Special CorrespondentPune: A 19-year-old man, identified as Viky Deepak Chavan, was arrested by Hinjawadi police for illegally possessing firearms. Two pistols and four cartridges were seized from Chavan, a resident of Ghotawade in Maval Taluka, Pune. Authorities suspect he has connections to the notorious Sharad Mohol gang.The arrest followed a tip-off received by Police Constable Ravi Pawar, who was informed about a young man riding a motorcycle with a pistol tucked into his waist near Mezza 9 Hotel. Acting on this intelligence, the Hinjawadi police set up a trap and apprehended Chavan.Upon conducting a search, officers recovered two pistols and four cartridges from the accused. The police are continuing their investigations to explore further connections and uncover more details.The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat, along with Police Inspector Rishikesh Ghadge, Assistant Police Inspector Somnath Panchal, and Sub-Inspector Ashok Dudhwane, supported by a team of officers including Naresh Balsane, Kailas Kengle, Madhukar Koli, Prashant Gilbile, Vijay Gangje, Ravi Pawar, Karbhari Palve, Omprakash Kamble, Vishal Bhoi, and Mangesh Lokhande.
