Pune : The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has taken strong action against colleges that have failed to submit their National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) evaluation reports. These reports are crucial for maintaining the quality and infrastructure of educational institutions. Despite repeated reminders, several affiliated colleges have not provided the required assessment information.
In response, the SPPU administration has issued a circular directing all affiliated colleges to update their NAAC evaluation details. Institutions that do not comply by January 15, 2025, will face restrictions on first-year admissions for both professional and non-professional courses for the 2025-26 academic year. The move highlights the university’s commitment to ensuring quality education and accountability in its affiliated colleges.
Maharashtra leads in the NAAC evaluation process, and the state’s higher education department has been actively working to raise awareness about the process’s changes. With the university set to undergo its NAAC evaluation next month, all affiliated institutions are required to update their college profiles on the SPPU website. If these updates are not made, restrictions will be enforced.
The circular emphasizes that colleges must complete their NAAC assessment, re-assessment, and ratings, or submit their Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) to the NAAC office. These details must be updated on the university’s online portal by the given deadline.
