Latur : A significant initiative aimed at empowering rural girls aged 13 to 18, the Swayam Skill Program, was launched with great enthusiasm in Valandi. Organized jointly by Jagmangal Social Foundation and Gramin Mahila Vikas Sanstha, this initiative will provide free training in life skills, communication skills, digital literacy, and spoken English. The program has received special support from SwissAid (Pune) and the European Union.
International Support for the Initiative
This program benefits from the backing of the European Union and SwissAid Pune, ensuring rural girls gain access to essential modern skills. The management and training responsibilities have been entrusted to Swayamtej Academy, Latur, under the aegis of Jagmangal Social Foundation.
Inauguration Ceremony Highlights
The program was inaugurated by girls in the community, symbolizing empowerment, with a traditional coconut-breaking ceremony. The event was attended by Akash Sonkamble, Director of Swayamtej Academy, Latur; Kushavarta Bele, Chairperson of Gramin Mahila Vikas Sanstha; Girish Sabnis, Kachratai Gaikwad, Azam Pathan, Vaishnavi More, Renuka Honkar, and several enthusiastic villagers and young girls.
