Pune: The Maharashtra government is actively working on an infrastructure strategy aimed at improving connectivity to the upcoming Purandar International Airport. A key component of this plan is a proposed greenfield connector that will link the airport to the under-construction Pune Outer Ring Road (ORR). This new route is expected to significantly cut travel time to just 12-13 minutes, addressing concerns about the airport’s distance from the city.
The Pune Outer Ring Road, currently under construction, is set to enhance transportation links across the region. Once completed, the direct access route from ORR to Purandar Airport will provide a seamless connection, making it much more accessible for travelers.
In another major development, the Maharashtra government has officially designated the Purandar Airport site as an ‘Industrial Zone’. This move allows the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to begin the land acquisition process for the airport and its surrounding infrastructure.

With these infrastructure developments, concerns regarding accessibility to the airport are expected to be resolved, ensuring faster and more convenient travel for passengers in the near future.
