Pimpri Chinchwad: An elderly man was injured in a hit-and-run accident on the Pune-Mumbai highway near Somatane Phata on March 30. The incident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. when Baburao Khushalrao Gathekar, 74, from Amravati, was crossing the road with his grandson. The elderly man was struck by a speeding two-wheeler, leaving him injured.
Following the incident, Baburao filed a complaint at the Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the accused, 21-year-old Ansh Bijender Kala from Vadgaon, Maval. According to the police, Ansh was riding his bike at high speed from the Talegaon side when he hit Baburao while he was crossing the highway.
The Talegaon Dabhade police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and further action is being taken as per the complaint filed by the injured man.
