Pune: In a move aimed at preserving the sanctity and spiritual ambiance of temple premises, the Chinchwad Devasthan Trust has introduced a dress code for devotees visiting five major temples under its jurisdiction, including the revered Ashtavinayak Ganpati temple.

The temples where this new guideline will be enforced are Moreshwar Temple, Morgaon, Chintamani Temple, Theur, Siddhivinayak Temple, Siddhtek, Moraya Gosavi Sanjeevani Samadhi Temple, Chinchwad, Khar Narangi Temple.

According to a notification issued by the trust, the decision has been taken to maintain cultural decorum and the spiritual essence of the temple spaces. The trust emphasized that these temples are not merely places of worship but also cultural and spiritual heritage sites deserving of reverence and appropriate conduct.

Dress Code Guidelines for Devotees:

For Men: Shirts, T-shirts, full-length pants, or traditional Indian attire like kurta-pyjama or dhoti are deemed acceptable.

For Women: Sarees, salwar kameez, Punjabi suits, and other modest traditional outfits are recommended.

The trust has appealed to all visitors to refrain from wearing outfits that are overly modern, transparent, sleeveless, torn, or revealing in nature, as such clothing is considered inappropriate within the temple premises.

Trust officials reiterated that this measure is not intended to restrict anyone’s freedom but to create a respectful and serene environment for all devotees. By following the dress code, visitors contribute to upholding the dignity and sanctity of these historic temples.

This new regulation has been implemented under the guidance of the Chinchwad Devasthan Trust, which manages the upkeep and operations of these prominent temples in the region.
